Living in North Texas

More than 5.5 million people live in the Dallas─Fort Worth─Arlington region, making it the nation's ninth largest metropolitan area. The region is one of the nation's leading business, financial and leisure centers, and the second most influential technology corridor in the nation.

It's an exciting, dynamic place to live and attend school, offering a broad range of fun and enriching things to do. Its rich cultural scene includes world-class museums and concert halls, symphonies, theater, dance and venues that attract the nation's top performing artists.

Arlington, home to UTA, is conveniently located halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth and has a population of 332,000. The city is a major recreational destination, offering such fun activities as Six Flags Over Texas. The Ballpark, home to professional baseball's Texas Rangers, is located near the UTA campus.

In addition to the Texas Rangers, North Texas is home to six other professional sports teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars.

Quality of life is among the reasons more than 1 million people moved to the Dallas─Fort Worth─Arlington region in the last decade.
