Leading computer scientists from industry and academia from around the world will travel to Italy in March to attend PerCom, recognized as the leading international conference on pervasive computing and communications. The conference is sponsored by CSE at UTA and IEEE.
The conference, founded by CSE faculty, will be held March 13-17 in Pisa, Italy. Corporate sponsors
for the conference are Sun Microsystems and IBM Research.
Keynote speakers for the conference are Hari Balakrishnan of MIT and Dipankar Raychaudhuri of Rutgers
University.
The conference, which is in its fourth year, has rapidly grown in size and prestige. Last year more
than 200 computer scientists attended PerCom in Hawaii.
CSE professors Sajal Das, Mohan Kumar, Gergely Zaruba and senior lecturer David Levine, all of whom
helped found the conference, will attend PerCom 2006 and are conference organizers.
CSE Ph.D. students Swaroop Kalasapur and Nirmalya Roy will present papers at PerCom. Roy's paper has
been nominated for a Best Paper award at the conference.
