- Biography : Gutemberg Guerra Filho is a Assistant Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Texas at Arlington. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2007 as a member of the Computer Vision Laboratory. He has a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and another from the State University of Campinas, Brazil, in 2006 and 1998, respectively. His current research involves the development of sensory-motor languages for artificial cognitive systems. This linguistic learning framework has applications in Computer Vision and Graphics, Humanoid Robotics, Multi-Modal Multimedia, Data Mining, and Artificial Intelligence. His other research interests are Computational Geometry, Spatial Databases, and Combinatorial Optimization.
