- Biography : Professor Lynn L. Peterson, who is also the associate dean for academic affairs in UTA's College of Engineering, received her Ph.D. in mathematical sciences (Medical Computer Science) from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas and holds master's degrees from Duke University and the University of Michigan. From 1978-82, she was an assistant professor of medical computer science, UTHSCD, and joined the faculty at UT Arlington in 1982. She was the 1992 recipient of the Robert Q. Lee Award for Excellence in Engineering Education, and in 1997 was inducted into the UT Arlington Academy of Distinguished Teachers. Dr. Peterson's research focuses on artificial intelligence applications to medicine, specifically on knowledge discovery in medical databases.
