  • Biography : Assistant Professor Nikola Stojanovic received his Ph.D. in computer science and engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1997. He received his M.S. in computer science from Drexel University in 1990 and his B.S. in mathematics from the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia, in 1985. Before starting doctoral studies, Dr. Stojanovic worked for several years as a research engineer at the Institute for Automation and Telecommunications "Mihajlo Pupin" in Belgrade. Upon receiving his doctorate, he worked on the Human Genome Project at the Whitehead Institute/MIT Center for Genome Research. In 2003, he was a visiting scholar at the Montreal Genome Centre at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He is the author or co-author of numerous journal papers and conference reports and serves as a referee for the journal Bioinformatics. He is one of the listed contributors to the Human Genome Project report, published in Nature in February 2001.
