Greetings from the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the University of Texas at Arlington.

As you know we host the High School Robot Programming Contest in February. This year we are able to hold a summer RoPro event. The summer program is the RoPro College Challenge Camp. This three day camp is designed for high school juniors, seniors and new graduates who would like to play with robots and learn about college at the same time. The College Challenge Camp will not only provide students with a fun robot challenge to work on and compete in at the end of camp but will also cover topics like college financial aid, entrance essays, and how to apply to colleges. By the end of the camp, students will have completed at least one college application to the college of their choice. (Of course, we hope it's UTA!)

Since this is our first year we are able to provide the camp for a charge of only $25 dollars for a student. This fee covers the three camp days 9am - 5pm on Wednesday, July 16 – Friday, July 18, 2008, the use of the robots, and lunch on the UTA campus each day. Students will work on the robot projects in small teams and we are limiting our camp enrollment to 30 students. The attachments to this e-mail are a Student Application form template and a flyer for the camp. Please feel free to share this info with all your students and colleagues. Any questions about the camp may be directed to me.
